Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to have prior experience in immigration law to apply?

Not necessarily. While experience is beneficial for roles such as Paralegal or IAA (OISC) Caseworker, we welcome applications from individuals who are passionate, committed to learning, and eager to grow in this field. Full training and support will be provided where needed.

Is it essential to speak Panjabi, Urdu or Hindi?

No, it’s not essential—but it is preferred. Many of our clients feel more comfortable communicating in these languages, so language skills are a bonus. However, we value diversity and encourage applicants from all backgrounds.

What qualities do you look for in team members?

We value professionalism, attention to detail, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping people. A positive attitude, reliability, and the ability to work well within a small, close-knit team are just as important as technical skills.

Do you offer training or career progression?

Yes. We’re committed to supporting professional development. As our firm grows, there will be opportunities to take on more responsibility, pursue further qualifications, and progress within the organisation.

Are the roles full-time or part-time?

Most roles are full-time, but we’re open to discussing flexible working arrangements depending on the position and applicant’s needs. We want to create a working environment that is productive and supportive.

Where is the office based?

Our main office is currently in Belvedere, South-East London, with plans to expand in the future. Please note that most roles require in-office presence, especially those involving client-facing work.

How do I apply?

To apply, please send your CV and a brief cover letter outlining your interest and suitability to info@havaii.co.uk. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview.

What is the recruitment process like?

We typically hold an initial informal chat or interview, followed by a more structured interview where applicable. For certain roles, you may be asked to complete a short written task to assess skills relevant to the position.
